America?

??

I'm ready to jump ship, get out of here. Not just the city, county or state. Rather the USA.

What has happened to this country? This country used to be the land of opportunity. A place where dreams came true. It was the kind of place where you could ???Make It???

??

What happened. How did we become a country so very rich and so very poor so very fast.

Poor not just in money, poor in values, respect for others, culture and art.

If our Government is truly a representation of the people, then this country has placed greed and making money above all else.

Today nothing is done without profit. The bottom line has become the God of the day.

This country once a shining example of the good life, at least that's what we all taught in school, is now a place for grinding the workers into the dirt for the benefit of the rich.

??

The real truth is this country has a long history of doing just that. Taking advantage of our own people for the enrichment of the privileged few.

Slavery is a shining example of this. Until the unions came into being children were forced to work. It happened in this country. The only group that got a fare shake were the rich. Slavery has now been replaced with a new kind of servitude. One in which people are forced to work for very little. So little in fact they can barley afford to feed themselves and their families. The prevailing attitude of the corporations is, The market is so bad if you don't like it here just try and find something else. People are literally trapped. Working in fear of loosing the pitiful job they have The new term is ???The working poor.???

??

This new class of poor is the result of big corporations who only want a fat bottom line.

??

We need to look at the reason for this mad rush to increase profit. The easiest answer is for more money at the top. This is a true statement. However it's not the only reason. Pressure from the stockholders wanting more is almost as great. Heres an irony for you. In some cases the same people that are fighting for higher wages on behalf of the working poor, are the same people screaming their 401K's are not making enough money.

??

This cycle of more and more must end or at least change. The rich have so much more than they will ever need.

Case in point. The failed candidate for President. The guy that lost, Mitt Romney was proud that he makes 25 million a year from his investments. He is so disconnected that during the Republican debates he asked one of the fellow candidates Rick Perry for a ???gentleman's??? bet. The proposed amount? $10,000 dollars. His small gentleman's bet was crazy! Thankfully it was not excepted.

??

I am not saying we should take the money away from the very rich as some have suggested.

Still something must be done. The rich feel that, I don't know what they feel or think anymore.

What I do know and feel is the growing sentiment over the horrific imbalance between the very rich and everybody else.

??

There was a time in history this level of imbalance occurred. It helped stem the French revolution. I can only hope history does not repeat it self in this country. The Bastille in this case will be Wall street

??

This is no longer the land of the free. Everything costs. And it cost more everyday.

America?
