Note on the story every break is a new page in the book.

Joey was just a young lad of three.

He always wanted to explore his world.

Joey walked to the wall in the house, looked at the plug.

He picked up a toy and tried to put it into the wall socket.

No! said his mother.

That's not good for a baby.

You could get shocked.

So Joey stopped.

The next day he tried to reach up to the stove.

No! said his dad.

That's not good for a baby!

You could get burned.

So Joey stopped.

Later Joey was playing outside.

A man came by walking his dog.

Joey ran to pet the dog.

No! said his mother.

That's not good for a baby!

He could bite you.

So Joey stopped.

One day Joey started to climb a bookcase in the living room.

No! said his dad.

That's not good for a baby!

It could fall on you.

So Joey stopped.

Soon after Joey went up to a plant in a pot.

He looked at it and put a leaf in his mouth.

No! said his mom.

That's not good for a baby!

Eating that will make you sick

So Joey stopped.

One day Joey was playing ball in the house.

No! said his dad.

That's not good for a baby!

You could break something.

So Joey stopped.

No is all they say to me.

Said Joey to himself.

The next day Joey went up to him mother and father and asked.

With great big tears in his little eyes, why always no?

He asked sobbing.

His mom and dad got on their knees.

They put their arms around Joey.

We're sorry baby.

We say no because we love you.

All the times we say no, just remember we love and want you safe.

We don't want you to hurt yourself.

Joey hugged his mom and dad.

I love you too.

He said as his dad wiped away his tears.

The End.
