June 2014. Friday the 13th And a full moon!

For those of you that don't know there is a real phobia associated with the 13th. Triskaidekaphobia the word breaks down like this. From the Greek, tris meaning "3", kai meaning "and", deka meaning "10" with phobia meaning, well, fear. How Friday got in there, not to sure about that one either. The fear of the 13th is not universal

??

In some regions 13 is considered a lucky number. I know it is for me. Here is an example you might find interesting.

13 is lucky in Italy! Except in some contexts and I can't find a reason for.

It is said that The Colgate university was started by 13 men with $13 and 13 prayers, so 13 is considered a lucky number. Friday the 13th is the luckiest day at Colgate! Take that bad luck spreaders!

??

Personally I never got the whole fear of Friday the 13th Or of black cats! I live with a black cat, Scully! I'm very lucky to have her. She is so loving and loyal. She is 16 this year and one happy girl. Before her I had Misty Bear. Another very loving and beautiful black kitty. That fear is just silly.

??

As for the 13th. It depends on you. I have heard people convince themselves it's bad. The same people have a hole list of things to be afraid of, ???Step on a crack, break a mirror, don't walk under a ladder. Okay the ladder thing has a basses in reality. Things get dropped, sometimes. The list goes on and on. There is one funny song regarding Friday the 13th. This version is done by the great Les Brown, and thank you Youtube.

Now to the full moon thing.

It's said that people can go crazy on a full moon. Having worked in a hospital I can say that on a full moon things do get a little wild. The world lunatic is from old French and the Latin, lunaticus. Even then it was considered crazy, moonstruck. Again more Latin, Luna. From there it's any bodies guess.

??

I do know that a lot of religious ceremony (Pagan) are done on a full moon. It's said to have the best energy. Having been involved in a few ceremonies I can say it does have a lot of comforting energy. This could be the reason all in it self for the fear. Christians did and do their best to discredit anything Pagan. And they have done a little to good of a job of it. They can't live and let live. I won't open that can of worms in this post. I will save it for later.

??

What every your beliefs are I hope you enjoy the 13th and the full moon! It doesn't come around that often.
